22 Pakistani nationals who survived a recent marine mishap near the Moroccan port of Dakhla would be repatriated in phases, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday.
“These individuals will be returned to Pakistan in batches after careful coordination with Moroccan authorities and thorough investigations,” Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated.
The statement added that in order to supervise the relief efforts and complete the intricate repatriation process, the Pakistani Embassy in Rabat had been collaborating closely with Moroccan authorities.
“The Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Management Unit (CMU) has been actively engaged in monitoring the situation, providing necessary support to the affected individuals, and maintaining communication,” he said, adding that the embassy’s consular team in Dakhla had played a crucial role in organizing the survivors’ return.
