Senator Faisal Vawda has declared that he will personally donate Rs5 million to assist Pakistani inmates who are incarcerated overseas in covering their fines. The Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis, which is chaired by Senator Zeeshan Khanzada, made the statement during a meeting.
The committee demanded the overseas secretary’s actual attendance and voiced its disapproval of his involvement via the internet. Officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed the committee that 11 nations had prisoner exchange arrangements with Pakistan. About 10,000 Pakistanis are still incarcerated in Saudi Arabia, including seven women in Riyadh, according to the community welfare attache in Saudi Arabia, even though 4,600 of them have returned home after serving their sentences.
