ISLAMABAD: After a year of hard work by the government’s economic team, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif declared on Saturday that the nation’s economy was at last back on its feet and prepared to take off once more.
As the administration concluded its first year in office, the premier spoke at a ceremony honoring “Youm-e-Tameer-o-Taraqqi” (Day of Development and Progress) and remarked, “Pakistan’s journey from darkness to light in a year is the result of a collective effort.”
He emphasized that the financial industry was now on a path to long-term recovery and advancement after overcoming major obstacles.
The premier went on to explain that the administration prevented the nation from going into default by successfully negotiating a $7 billion loan agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
