ISLAMABAD: According to The News on Sunday, Omar Ayub Khan, the leader of the opposition in the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) National Assembly, has ruled out the idea of a new round of talks between the ruling party and the current administration.
Ayub declared on Saturday that “the chapter of talks is now closed,” adding that political conversations needed strong pledges, which the administration was unable to provide.
The top PTI leader criticized the coalition government’s approach to the talks, which now appear to have broken down. He claimed that although his party’s committee had started the talks in good faith, the other side had shown neither kindness nor intent, which resulted in a standoff.
His comments are made in light of the ongoing talks between the current government and the PTI.
