The opposition, particularly PTI members, staged a loud protest and tried to disrupt PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s address during Monday’s National Assembly session, causing a great deal of chaos.
PPP legislators responded by threatening to bar Omar Ayub of the PTI and other speakers if the disturbances persisted.
The impasse grew more heated when Speaker Ayaz Sadiq asked Omar Ayub to start speaking during a debate on Senate recommendations.
PPP members protested by yelling slogans and preventing the opposition from speaking because of what they called “disrespect during Bilawal’s address.”
In an effort to ease tensions, Speaker Ayaz advised PPP members to exercise self-control, stating, “Two wrongs don’t make a right.” Permit Omar Ayub to speak, please.
