Following the US strike on Iran, commercial airlines worldwide were debating how long to halt flights to the Middle East on Monday.
Following a security assessment, Singapore Airlines, one of the most well-known airlines in Asia, canceled flights from Singapore to Dubai on Sunday, describing the situation as “fluid.”
Since the war-related closure of Russian and Ukrainian airspace, the Middle East route has grown in importance for flights connecting Europe and Asia; nevertheless, FlightRadar24, a service that tracks aircraft, revealed vacant space over Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Israel.
On Sunday, Air France KLM said that it would not be operating flights to and from Riyadh and Dubai on Sunday or Monday.
IAG ICAG.L-owned British Airways also canceled Sunday’s flights to and from Doha and Dubai.
