The Sindh Rescue Service (SRS) Headquarters in Karachi received a distress call at approximately nine in the morning. There was a desperate woman on the other end of the call, begging for assistance. Her neighbor was having a terrible time giving birth at home since the baby’s head was trapped, which was causing a lot of bleeding.
Roshaan Laghari, a young emergency medical dispatcher at the SRC, took command with steely nerves and a purposeful heart. She led the caller step-by-step while maintaining her composure under duress. The baby was delivered safely and healthily a short while later thanks to the young dispatcher’s and the struggling mother’s combined efforts.
Young emergency medical dispatcher Roshaan Laghari of the Sindh Rescue Service is employed at her command-and-control station.
