LONDON: Dr. Naveed Farooq, a British-Pakistani National Health Service (NHS) doctor, was detained by police when they discovered him trying to enter Begum Kulsoom Nawaz’s private room in the critical care unit (ICU) at the Harley Street clinic on Saturday. Farooq was later freed after being questioned. At the private hospital, they warned people not to approach anyone.
At the Harley Street Clinic in London on Saturday, Dr. Farooq attempted to enter the room of Begum Kulsoom, the wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif. According to hospital officials, Dr. Farooq was brought to the media by staff and held under control until Scotland Yard officers showed up to conduct an interview with him.
Begum Kulsoom, who has been hospitalized since June 14, was moved to the intensive care unit on Thursday following a heart attack.
