SEOUL: As a third Boeing aircraft began returning to the US on Thursday, the US aircraft manufacturer acknowledged that its Chinese customers are delaying delivery of newly constructed aircraft because of taxes.
During a first-quarter results call on Wednesday, CEO Kelly Ortberg stated, “Many of our customers in China have indicated that they will not take delivery due to the tariffs.”
According to Ortberg, Boeing was only having this problem in China, and because of a worldwide shortage of new commercial aircraft, the aircraft manufacturer would reroute its supply of new jets to other clients who were keen for quicker deliveries.
