RIYADH: Those who seek to conduct the Hajj without the necessary permit and those who assist in such infractions will face a number of severe penalties declared by the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
From the first of Dhul-Qi’dah until the fourteenth of Dhul-Hijjah, the measures shall be in effect.
People who are discovered performing or attempting to do the Hajj without a legal permit will be subject to fines of up to SAR 20,000 under the new restrictions.
Those possessing visitation visas of any kind who arrive or remain in Makkah or the holy sites within the restricted time without the required authorization are likewise subject to this penalty.
Facilitators face harsher sanctions: Anyone who sponsors a visit visa for violations faces a fine of up to SAR 100,000.
