Pakistani superstars Mahira Khan and Fawad Khan were criticized by the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) on Thursday for criticizing India for its missile strikes on Pakistan, further solidifying the organization’s position on a “strict and complete ban” on Pakistani artists.
According to NDTV, which cited a press release from the AICWA, the group accused Fawad Khan of “supporting divisive narratives” and neglecting to denounce terrorism, while accusing Mahira Khan of labeling India’s military operation “seriously cowardly.”
Pakistani celebrities denounced India’s conduct by calling them “cowardly” on social media after the attacks.
Mahira posted the following on her Instagram Story: “Very cowardly! May Allah keep our nation safe and may common reason win out. “Amen.”
