According to the Metropolitan Police, the 21-year-old is still in custody after being apprehended in Sydenham, south-east London, on suspicion of arson with intent to harm life.
Early on Monday, emergency personnel responded to a fire at the prime minister’s private residence in Kentish Town, north London.
Crews were alerted to a small fire at the front entrance of a house in adjacent Islington that had been converted into apartments on Sunday. It is believed that Sir Keir resided at this property in the 1990s.
A car fire that happened on Thursday on the same street as the Kentish Town residence is also being investigated by police. It is known that Sir Keir once owned the vehicle.
