On Friday, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy commended India and Pakistan for their efforts to reach a cease-fire agreement.
According to a statement released by the British High Commission in Islamabad, this is the first time a British foreign secretary has visited Pakistan since 2021 as the UK works to turn the shaky ceasefire into a lasting peace.
In order to reaffirm that peace and security are the cornerstones of the UK’s relationship with Pakistan and will safeguard growth and prosperity for British, Pakistanis, and the wider region, Lammy traveled to Pakistan to welcome the ceasefire and make it clear that more conflict is in no one’s best interests, the statement said.
