The ceasefire deal between India and Pakistan is not time-bound and will last indefinitely, according to security sources on Friday, as long as neither country violates it.
The sources claim that recent rumors implying a limited or short truce have led to misconceptions. They stressed that the agreement has no set time or date and is still open-ended as long as both countries abide by its provisions.
Pakistan is totally committed to maintaining the truce along the Line of Control (LoC), the sources added. A senior security official stated that the current calm is the consequence of mutual restraint and that there have been no new provocations from the Indian side thus far.
