ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has assigned Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, the chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to lead a high-level delegation to important international cities in order to convey Pakistan’s position and promote peace, just days after a truce was established in response to Indian military assault.
Accepting the role, Bilawal, whose party is a crucial ally of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) at the Center, reaffirmed his pledge to represent the nation abroad during difficult times.
“Prime Minister [Shehbaz Sharif] contacted me earlier today and asked me to head a delegation to make Pakistan’s peace argument internationally. In these trying times, I am honored to take on this responsibility and will continue to serve Pakistan,” he wrote on X.
