According to a report by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), The News stated that 284 terrorist events have occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so far this year, making it one of the provinces most affected by militancy.
With 53 occurrences, North Waziristan had the most, followed by Bannu (35), Dera Ismail Khan (31), Peshawar (13), and Kurram (8), the study said.
According to the CTD, 1,116 suspects—including 391 from North Waziristan and 166 from Kurram—have been nominated in terrorism-related cases throughout the province.
So far this year, 95 of the total suspects have been taken into custody. These comprise three arrests in Swat and Bannu and seventy in Kurram. 148 terrorists have been slain, according to the CTD report.
