ISLAMABAD: With temperatures expected to reach a peak by May 19, the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Sunday advised residents to take the appropriate safety measures as the current heatwave is expected to worsen throughout Punjab’s major towns and plains.
Speaking to a media news station, the PDMA spokesperson advised travelers who intend to visit Murree to stay informed about the weather and stay away from travel during erratic conditions.
Along with warning commissioners and deputy commissioners throughout Punjab to be on high alert due to the expected heavy rainfall, the spokesperson also advised residents and visitors to stay indoors during severe weather, avoid open or vulnerable areas, and heed government travel advice.
However, thunder and severe winds are also predicted by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
