ISLAMABAD Imran Khan and his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), have not yet received any kind of agreement or concession, despite circulating rumors in political circles.
Instead of receiving an offer, the PTI leadership is the one secretly working behind the scenes to try to establish a backchannel line of communication with the establishment and government.
No official dialogue has started, despite public declarations that are still firm and defiant. This is mostly because Khan and his close associates prefer that any procedure be kept out of the public eye. It is believed that keeping things secret is essential to preventing criticism from both internal and external sources. But it has also resulted in conflicting messages from PTI members themselves.
