Following severe storms and tornadoes that struck portions of Kentucky, Missouri, and Virginia, over 25 individuals have lost their lives. Trees were felled, homes were wrecked, and about 200,000 people lost power.
The destruction is causing local communities to struggle.
At least 18 individuals had killed in the storms Friday night, according to Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear on X, while Missouri local officials reported seven more fatalities.
According to local media, two persons were also killed by falling trees in Virginia.
While the hurricane destroyed homes in the neighborhood, Jamie Burns, 38, who lives in a trailer home with her husband and son in the town of London, Kentucky, had to take refuge in her sister’s brick home’s basement.
