LAHORE: According to a report by Geo Super on Sunday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started preliminary talks over central contracts for national players for the 2025–2026 season.
The three-year financial framework that was implemented in 2023 while Zaka Ashraf was chairman will end this year.
Sources say that while modest changes within categories might be taken into consideration throughout the review process, a significant overhaul of the centrally contracted players’ roster is unlikely.
Cricket players who perform exceptionally well in the 2024–25 season may be rewarded with a contract list elevation or inclusion.
Players who weren’t on the roster from the previous year, like Hasan Ali, Fakhar Zaman, and Faheem Ashraf, are being considered for a return.
