With almost 40 pupils on board, the school bus was targeted by terrorists while it was traveling to the educational facility.
“We join Pakistan’s leaders in condemning the brutal, unconscionable attack on a school bus in Khuzdar, Balochistan,” said Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d’Affaires at the US Embassy, in an X post.
She sympathized with the relatives of the victims, saying, “We grieve with the families who lost loved ones, and our thoughts are with those recovering.” She called the killing of defenseless youngsters “beyond comprehension.”
“No child should ever be afraid to go to school,” Baker continued, adding that the United States supports efforts to put a stop to the violence in Pakistan, saying, “We stand with those in Pakistan working to end this violence.”
