NEW DELHI: A Pakistan High Commission official in New Delhi was deemed “persona non grata” by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs on Wednesday, and the diplomat was given a 24-hour notice to depart the nation.
A demarche to this effect was submitted today to the Pakistan High Commission’s Charge d’Affaires. According to a statement from the ministry, he was instructed to make sure that no Pakistani diplomat or official in India abuses their position or privileges in any way.
The official’s “activities deemed incompatible with diplomatic duties” were discovered, according to the Indian government.
