An explosive device was allegedly dropped from a drone camera into a volleyball court in the Barmal area of Lower Wana Tehsil, South Waziristan, on Tuesday evening, injuring at least 15 civilians, including children.
Local sources claim that a bomb dropped from a low-flying drone caused havoc while locals were playing a friendly game of volleyball. Players and onlookers alike were in a state of widespread terror due to the surprise detonation.
Witnesses stated that the explosion was followed by intense gunfire, which heightened the local panic. Four of the fifteen individuals injured in the event were listed as critically ill. Among those hurt were small children. For medical care, all victims have been moved to Wana Headquarters Hospital.
