Despite the lack of definitive intelligence reports, US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that the devastation caused by American raids on Iranian nuclear sites was comparable to the end of World War II.
His remarks came after Reuters and other media sources reported on Tuesday that the US Defense Intelligence Agency had determined that, despite claims by Trump and administration officials that the attacks had destroyed Iran’s nuclear program, they had only set it back a few months.
“The intelligence was… very inconclusive,” Trump told reporters during a meeting with Secretary General Mark Rutte on Wednesday at a NATO summit.
“The intelligence says, ‘We don’t know, it could have been very severe.”
