As the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts further rainfall in Karachi, Hyderabad, and other cities today (Friday), at least 11 persons have died in rain-related incidents across Pakistan.
Several areas were hit by dust storms, strong winds, and heavy rain, and reports of fatalities came from Hyderabad, Punjab, Gilgit, and Thehri.
Two children were killed and fourteen others were injured when the roof of a madrassa in Hyderabad fell in the rain. In Punjab, numerous rain-related incidents resulted in 25 injuries and six fatalities. A house roof in Thehri collapsed during rainy conditions, killing a kid and injuring five others.
A girl who had fallen into the stream near Gilgit’s Nala Kargah was saved, but her mother and aunt perished.
