Due to unfavorable weather conditions, a foreign airline flight from Islamabad to Dubai briefly crossed Indian airspace on Thursday morning, according to airport sources.
The aircraft encountered heavy weather and low visibility in Lahore’s air corridor, which caused it to wander off its intended course and enter Indian airspace near the Sialkot-Narowal sector, according to sources at the airport.
In an attempt to find safer skies, the pilot steered the aircraft toward Amritsar, India, as the weather worsened. According to sources, the plane was in Indian airspace for almost ten minutes.
Following the brief detour, the aircraft successfully returned to Pakistani airspace under the directives of air traffic control authorities.
