Shortly after takeoff on Friday, a technical issue forced a Saudi Airlines flight from Karachi to Jeddah to make an emergency landing, according to airport officials. Thankfully, everyone on board was said to be safe.
Sources claim that the captain discovered a technical problem shortly after the plane took off from Jinnah International Airport, and quick action was taken. The pilot quickly obtained permission to make an emergency landing after contacting Karachi Air Traffic Control.
The pilot chose to dump fuel as a precaution after the engine warning light came on, according to a Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) spokeswoman. In accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs), the airport administration started emergency procedures and made sure that all required services were available.
