The challenge to run for office in Dera Ismail Khan from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has been accepted by engineer Zia-ur-Rehman, the younger brother of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
“I accept your challenge, Gandhipur. In a fiercely worded video message posted late on Sunday night, Zia stated, “Face me instead. You’re not worthy of Maulana’s response.”
The heated argument comes when Gandapur challenged Fazl to run for office against his (CM’s) brother, DI Khan, at a news conference on Sunday in Lahore. Gandapur said Maulana should resign from politics if he lost, but he promised to do so if the JUI-F leader prevailed.
