Iran stated on Saturday that it “will take on a new form” its collaboration with the International Atomic Energy Agency, indicating that it hopes to settle its nuclear program issues diplomatically.
Iran’s already precarious relationship with the UN nuclear watchdog was further strained last month when it launched a 12-day war with Israel, which was triggered by an Israeli bombing campaign that targeted residential areas as well as military and nuclear targets.
Days before Tehran and Washington were about to meet to resume nuclear talks that had stagnated, the strikes started.
After the Islamic republic formally terminated its collaboration with the UN watchdog in early July, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on Saturday that Iran’s work with the IAEA “has not stopped, but will take on a new form.”
