DHAKA: A Bangladeshi fighter plane crashed into a school in the capital Dhaka, killing at least 27 people, primarily children, according to a government official who updated the death toll from at least 20 earlier on Tuesday.
When the Chinese-made F-7 BJI aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College on Monday, the majority of the dead were pupils who had just been released from class.
More than 170 people were injured in the crash, which is the deadliest aviation mishap in the nation’s history.
“There have been 27 fatalities thus far. According to Sayedur Rahman, special assistant to the chief adviser for the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 25 of them are youngsters, and one is a pilot.
