UNITED NATIONS: In order to advance peace, combat growing religious hatred, and protect the rights of oppressed people worldwide, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has called for increased collaboration between the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Dar gave Pakistan’s statement at a special briefing on “Cooperation between the United Nations and regional and sub-regional organizations in maintaining international peace and security: Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)” while serving as the UN Security Council President.
According to him, the OIC is an essential link between regional and global initiatives, bringing political objectives and humanitarian needs into alignment.
