LAHORE: In a case involving an alleged attack on Islamabad police officers stationed outside the latter’s Zaman Park home, a Lahore court issued summon orders for PTI founding chairman Imran Khan and a non-bailable arrest warrant for Senate opposition leader Shibli Faraz on Friday.
Following altercations between PTI supporters and police, the former premier and other party officials were charged in 2023 at Lahore’s Race Course police station.
Since his departure as premier, the deposed prime minister, who was overthrown by the opposition’s no-confidence resolution in April 2022, has been accused of everything from terrorism to corruption.
Imran Khan was condemned in several cases and has been incarcerated since August 2023.
