A judge declared on Thursday that five former members of Canada’s 2018 world junior ice hockey team had been found not guilty of sexually abusing a woman in a hotel room that year.
The allegations against Cal Foote, Carter Hart, Dillon Dube, Michael McLeod, and Alex Formenton were related to an incident that happened in a hotel room in London, Canada, following a Hockey Canada banquet to commemorate the team’s triumph in the world junior championship.
McLeod was charged with being a party to an offense, while the other five former NHL players were each charged with one count of sexual assault. Each of them entered a not guilty plea.
