Bobbie Jean Carter’s cause of death was ultimately revealed after two months.
According to an interim summary report issued by the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Department, the 41-year-old died on December 23, 2023, from “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine.”
The cause of death was recorded as accidental.
According to the report’s medical background, Bobbie, the sister of Backstreet Boy Nick and the late Aaron Carter, was also diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Furthermore, the research named quetiapine (used to treat schizophrenia), clindamycin (an antibiotic), omeprazole (to help indigestion), and propranolol (an anti-anxiety medicine) as “preliminary meds.”
Her death occurred just over a year after her 34-year-old brother Aaron died in November 2022 due to “drowning after inhaling difluoroethane.”
