Surgeons treating patients with “large infected open wounds” at Gaza’s European Hospital, according to the groups, have reported this.
In other instances, they claim that patients’ care has been put in danger due to a lack of food, forcing medical professionals to provide emergency nutritional supplies.
It coincides with remarks made by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Monday during a visit to Jordan, indicating that there is a growing international agreement that Israel must be informed that a ceasefire is required.
“I also observe a rising consensus; to be clear, I heard this from the US and the EU in addition to the Muslim world.
Another resolution urging an “immediate humanitarian ceasefire” in Gaza during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan is scheduled to be heard by the UN Security Council on Monday.
Ten elected council members have proposed the resolution, which has the support of China, Russia, and the 22-nation Arab Group at the UN.
China and Russia last week vetoed the resolution that the US sponsored, calling for “an immediate and sustained ceasefire.”
