Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was found guilty in a corruption case in Toshakhana. According to a new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) inquiry report, Khan “illegally” received and sold seven watches connected to the state gift repository while he was prime minister.
Ten costly presents were allegedly kept and sold by the ousted premier without being reported to the appropriate authorities or turned in to Toshakhana, according to the most recent case of alleged corrupt activities against him.
Laws stipulate that any present that the president, first lady, or head of state receives that is valued more than Rs. 30,000 must be registered in the state gift repository.
According to the inquiry report, Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi—who was also found guilty in the earlier Toshakhana case—received and kept a watch as well as some jewelry, including a necklace and ring that were meant to be placed in the gift depository.
The latest NAB report states that the state gifts were acquired or held at “much lower rates.”
