In his memoir, which was released earlier this year, Princess Diana’s younger brother stated that he was physically and sexually abused by a female staff member while attending the boarding school.
A criminal inquiry into “allegations of non-recent sexual abuse” at Maidwell Hall School was started, according to local police on Monday.
According to a force spokesman, the claims were being looked into and all possible avenues of investigation would be pursued in order to “help bring perpetrators to justice.”
Earl Spencer claimed in his memoir, A Very Private School, that at the age of eleven, an assistant matron had molested him. The trauma he experienced led him to self-harm due to the fear that she could quit the school.
Earl Spencer wrote: “There seemed to be an unofficial hierarchy among her prey… she chose one boy each term to share her bed and would use him for intercourse.” Spencer claimed the abuse had left him with “demons” for the rest of his life.We were deprived of feminine warmth and in need of love and tenderness, so she had complete influence over the enthralled boys.”
Earl Spencer stated that he lost his virginity to an Italian prostitute when he was twelve years old as a result of the trauma he endured.
