Ilyas Memon, the president of the Tariq Road Trades Alliance, denounced the increase in electricity costs, calling it yet more hardship on companies already burdened by exorbitant K-Electric bills.
“The current heatwave is causing load shedding in the markets, which is negatively impacting business operations,” Ilyas Memon said.
The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), according to the president of the Tariq Road Trades Alliance, has been urged to become involved in this situation.
Memon stated that the government must act quickly to resolve the issue of unexpected load shedding and to rescind the recent rise in electricity prices.
In addition, he called for a revision of the current tax structure, describing it as one that is burdensome to the public and businesses alike.
