The “Boogie Nights” actor will be starring with Halle Berry in a new Netflix film called “The Union” that releases next month. In the film, his character, a blue-collar worker, gets a second chance with his high school sweetheart, a superspy secret agent.
“Halle, her and I have known each other for such a long time, and this movie is going to be so great because it’s every guy’s fantasy to think that they got a shot with Halle Berry,” he stated to News.
He went on, referring to the characters, “They were childhood sweethearts, and they reunite.” He essentially walked back through that twenty-five years waiting for her to return.
If he had another chance, he would stop at nothing to win her approval. To me, that was the character’s primary driving force: to simply do everything in his power to avoid making the same mistakes twice.”
Playing romantically opposite someone is always “a little weird,” but Wahlberg and his wife of 15 years, Rhea Durham, are happy and content in their marriage.
“My wife knows that she is everything to me, but I think it’s a little weird anyway when you’re portraying some sort of romance on screen,” he remarked. “She is the world’s most unique woman.
