RAWALPINDI: Imran Khan, the founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has acknowledged that, before to his detention, he called for a protest outside the army headquarters in Rawalpindi, according to a Monday report from Geo News.
Speaking to reporters during a court hearing held within the Adiala prisons, the former prime minister made the disclosure.
Imran Khan stated, “Before my arrest, I had called for holding a peaceful protest outside the General Headquarters (GHQ),” and he added that on March 14, police and Rangers had raided his home in Zaman Park.
He continued, saying, “Later on March 18, the law enforcement officers broke into my house with force once more.” That same day, the Judicial Complex saw shelling both within and outside of its grounds.
The politician turned cricket player brought up an event from the previous year.The former cricket player turned politician brought up an incident from last year in which there were violent altercations between his followers and security staff prior to his appearance before Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal’s court.
He had said back then that he was going to be arrested or assassinated by the authorities inside the Judicial Complex.
Speaking back to the events of March 18, he stated he was aware that he would be taken into custody and that, before to being taken into custody, he had called for a nonviolent demonstration in front of the army headquarters.
The PTI founder claimed that his legal advisors gave him the assurance that they would cooperate with the inquiry and turn themselves in to the authorities so they could be taken into custody.
