The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has rolled back the low tax facility, therefore the Sindh authorities have removed the lower tax rates on meals at restaurants paid for with debit and credit cards.
The SRB has reduced the service tax that was previously applied to debit and credit card payments from 15% to 15% for 58 hotels and restaurants in Karachi. This action is a component of the Sindh budget, which attempted to lessen the cost of eating out for customers.
The tax on credit and debit card payments was previously lowered from 15% to 8% in Sindh.
Additionally, SRB representatives have made it clear that the facility was made available for input adjustment of restaurant tax payments. This action aims to streamline the taxation procedure.Though this tax facility has been reversed, only few eateries have been given authorization to remove the lower tax rate.
