During the 22nd International Sustainability Conference at the UN Headquarters in Geneva, the Prime Minister Youth Programme (PMYP) was represented by Mr. Rizwan Anwar, Global Youth Ambassador to the UN, and Ms. Maha Jamil, UN Youth Advocate.
Mr. Rizwan Anwar emphasized how young people in Pakistan are actively promoting societal change. Speakers stressed that the Pakistani government is taking deliberate steps to guarantee sustainable youth development, led by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Four essential areas that the PMYP is dedicated to developing are Engagement, Employment, Environment, and Education.
Participants from the United States, the United Kingdom, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, France, Norway, Ireland, Scotland, Switzerland, Poland, Turkey, Azerbaijan, China, Korea, and Canada graced the 22nd International Sustainability Conference.
In light of Pakistan’s chairmanship of the Commonwealth Youth Ministers Task Force, the international delegates applauded the success of the Prime Minister Youth Programme, with Commonwealth representatives specifically pushing for the adoption of similar initiatives within Commonwealth nations.
