For their first encounter since September 2020, the former US president welcomed the Israeli prime minister to his Palm Beach residence, Mar-a-Lago.
Following Mr. Netanyahu’s congratulations to Joe Biden for winning the 2020 presidential election—which Mr. Trump falsely claimed was stolen from him—the Republican nominee for president and the Israeli prime minister are said to have fallen out.
But on Friday, there was nothing but happiness between Mr. Trump and Mr. Netanyahu, with the American stating, “We have a very good relationship” and stressing that it was “never bad.”.
According to the Trump team, Netanyahu expressed gratitude to him for “working to promote stability in the region” throughout his tenure in government.
In the meanwhile, Mr. Trump told Mr. Netanyahu that he supported Israel and that, should he win the election, “he will make every effort to bring peace to the Middle East and combat anti-semitism from spreading throughout college campuses.”
Following his discussions with Vice President Kamala Harris, the Israeli leader met with Mr. Trump. Following their meeting, Ms. Harris declared she would “not be silent” over the suffering in Gaza.
