LAHORE: According to sources who spoke to Geo News on Sunday, prominent businessman Zulfiqar Ahmed, who was abducted from Karachi last week, has returned home to Lahore.
The industrialist has communicated with his family and will shortly be with them, according to earlier confirmation from police and the family’s attorney.
Counsel Mian Ali Ashfaque told the TV channel, “Zulfiqar Ahmed has spoken to his family in Lahore and will soon be home,” while DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that the businessman will shortly return home.
But nothing is known about his kidnappers or the location of his captors during this time.On July 23, the industrialist and his companion Qaiser were kidnapped from Karachi’s Mauripur Road. In a double-cabin car, eight masked guys violently took them at gunpoint. Soon after, Qaiser was let free.
In response to a petition asking for Zulfiqar Ahmed’s retrieval, the Sindh High Court (SHC) sent letters to the inspector general of police for Sindh, federal and provincial law enforcement agencies, and other parties on Thursday.
Anber Zulfiqar, the petitioner, claimed that her husband was a well-known businessman who served as managing director of oil and textile manufacturing enterprises.
She claims that on July 23, Ahmed and his companion Qaiser left his office. According to the family, the businessman was last seen on the Mauripur Road being taken by force by masked gunmen.
