Following Trump’s selection of the Ohio senator as the Republican nominee for vice president, JD Vance’s 2021 remark that Kamala Harris and other Democrats were “a bunch of childless cat ladies miserable at their own lives” came to light.
Trump acknowledged that Mr. Vance “likes families” in a Monday interview with Fox News, but he added that he did not think parenting was more important than other things.
You know, you either meet the wrong person or no one at all. However, you are frequently far superior to someone who is raised in a family.
The presumed Democratic nominee, Ms. Harris, is married to attorney Doug Emhoff, and together they have two stepchildren.
Harris’s ex-wife, who also praised him as a “loving, nurturing, fiercely protective” coparent, called the criticism “baseless.”
Trump replied that Mr. Vance was only attempting to demonstrate how highly he regards family life.
“He feels that families are excellent because he was raised in an intriguing family environment. And I don’t think it’s improper to say that,” declared Trump.
