ISLAMABAD: The government has eliminated the weekly Saturday off for all federal capital public schools and educational institutes.
All government educational institutions in Islamabad will now open on Saturdays, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Education. According to the communiqué, the decision will take effect on August 10.
It also mentioned that there will be two more language and math programs on Saturdays. The kids will be able to opt out of the two classes, though.
It should be recalled that in June, sources claimed that the federal government was considering doing away with the Saturday weekly off in order to bring back the six-day workweek in government agencies.
