A housing subsidy of Rs200,000 per month for ministers stationed in Peshawar is scheduled to be approved by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) provincial cabinet. This development has generated a great deal of criticism.
This choice highlights the growing perks enjoyed by public servants in the face of a financial crisis.
Among the important items on the province cabinet’s agenda for today will be the modification to the KP ministers’ Salaries, Allowances, and Privileges Bill. If accepted, a sizeable housing subsidy will be given to Peshawar ministers to help with housing costs.
This decision comes after special assistants, advisers, and ministers from other districts received recent privilege hikes, including an increase in their housing rent allowance to Rs 200,000. Furthermore, a previous approval existed to provide Rs 1 million for home repairs.
