Since first entering the public eye in 2011, the 36-year-old former member of Made in Chelsea has expanded his list of professional endeavors to include endurance athletes.
After making it through the sweltering Jordanian Desert 1,266 kilometers, the father of three spoke with Sky News.
He began the race close to Wadi Rum, which is situated on the Arabian Desert’s edge, and completed the last 26.2 miles on Tuesday morning close to the Dead Sea.
He collected money for Global’s Make Some Noise charity during the challenge, which supports community-based initiatives and collaborates with small charities throughout the United Kingdom.
Matthews stated that he never intended to give up running because the causes he was supporting helped people who “absolutely don’t deserve to be in the pain that they’re in.”
In contrast to me, who is here for 30 days, in many situations their misery is permanent. Even if they are rather challenging, he declared, “After this is over, I will return to my life, and some of them don’t get the chance to do that.”
“So that is really helpful during difficult times because my difficult times will never be as difficult as what these people are going through.”
