KARACHI: The deep depression, which is gradually moving from India’s Rann of Kutch towards the Arabian Sea, is currently located 170 kilometers southeast of the port city, according to the Pakistan Meteorology Department (PMD) on Friday.
The PMD predicts that this deep depression, a powerful area of low pressure, will continue to move west-southwest along Sindh’s coastal belt.
It further said that it is located roughly 170 km southeast of Karachi and 88 km south of Kati Bandar, at latitude 23.5 N and longitude 67.9 E.
If the weather holds out, the low pressure system may strengthen even more into a cyclonic storm by this afternoon or tonight when it enters the Arabian Sea, according to the PMD’s most recent cyclone notice.
