ISLAMABAD: Pakistani students wishing to apply for scholarships at UK universities are encouraged to do so through the Chevening and Commonwealth scholarship programs, according to British High Commissioner Jane Marriott.
According to an official statement released on Friday from the British High Commission in Islamabad, 46 Chevening and 47 Commonwealth scholarships have been given to Pakistanis this year, marking the program’s 65th anniversary.
According to the report, these long-running initiatives have created a network of over 1,500 Commonwealth and close to 2,000 Chevening graduates in Pakistan who get together frequently to talk about current events.
The statement added that this year’s cohort of academics comes from Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan, Pakistan Administered Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and the rest of Pakistan, highlighting the rich cultural tapestry of the country.
